In the middle of the country under linden trees

Two pitches in the countryside near Schortens, lined up along a row of linden trees, with the forest right next door. In the morning there are fresh eggs from the chickens, in the evening a small fire burns in the barrel. Within walking distance is a small moor, and it's three kilometres by bike to the free natural bathing spot Schortens, where children end up at the shower and the fries kiosk. You can cycle flat over to Jever. Michael and Tanja keep two horses; guests with dogs are welcome. Moin.1

Sights in the area1

Jever

The Frisian town of Jever, with its castle and well-known brewery, is an easy bike ride away; the market square and old town fill an afternoon, even in the rain.

Pilsum Lighthouse

The yellow-and-red lighthouse behind the dyke in the Krummhörn, famous from the Otto film; a trip further west that rewards a dyke walk in any weather.

Oldenburg

Oldenburg, about 50 km away, is the nearest larger town: a pedestrian zone, palace gardens and museums for a day when country life gets too quiet.
