Oma Ernst gathers private camping pitches from many platforms in one place. This page tells you who invented her and why.
Who's behind her
Oma Ernst is an invented character, the friendly voice of this site. What's real are the pitches she shows, and the person who built her.
His name is Felix. He loves camping, just not on regular campsites: with his family and self-converted campers he has travelled all over Europe and North Africa. On those trips it bothered him that the lovely private pitches are scattered across a dozen portals, each with its own search. So he built Oma Ernst.
What Oma does
Oma searches ten platforms for private pitches at once. She shows you what's out there and takes you to the pitch's platform with one click.
Booking always happens directly with the platform or the host. Oma rents out nothing herself and never becomes your contract partner. More on that here.
What's in it for Oma
Honestly: nothing. Oma Ernst is a hobby project. Felix builds her in his spare time because he missed having a search like this himself. There are no ads here, and no money comes from the platforms either: when you book through Oma, she gets no commission for it.
Nothing changes for you when booking. You pay the platform exactly what you'd pay coming directly.

And your data?
As little as possible. Searching and saving works entirely without an account, and an account needs nothing but an email address. What gets processed, when and why, is laid out in the privacy policy.
