Two parking spaces on the outskirts of Schneverdingen: one on the meadow in front of the bakehouse, the other behind the barn, past the residential house. Water and electricity are directly at the site. The road continues two hundred meters further on, barely audible. You won't notice the holiday apartments next door. During the day, tarred farm tracks run through the heath, with almost no traffic. It's not far to Pietzmoor with its dark peat pits, and Hamburg is a good fifty kilometers away. Brunsberg
A wooded ridge near Schneverdingen with a wide view over the heath. The short climb pays off during the August bloom.
Totengrund
A heath valley ringed by hills near Wilsede, deep purple in late summer. Reachable only on foot or by horse cart.
Hamburg
About 58 km away, the big city for a rainy day. Around the Außenalster you can spend a whole afternoon by the water.
