Winery Lothar Schwörer

A parking spot right at the winery in Kippenheim, on the eastern edge of the Rhine plain, where the first slopes of the Black Forest begin behind the vineyards. Open year-round, electricity and toilet facilities on site, and even long motorhomes over ten meters can fit here. In the morning it smells of moist earth between the vine rows, during the day cyclists roll past on the paths. If you wish, you can go to a wine tasting or take a tour. Arrival in the afternoon, please let us know beforehand. Freiburg is a good 30 kilometers further south.1

Sights in the area1

Freiburg im Breisgau

The cathedral town at the edge of the Black Forest, around 33 km away. Old town with the little Bächle water channels, good for a day without a fixed plan.

Schauinsland

Freiburg's local mountain with views to the Alps in clear weather. A cable car runs up, and trails follow the ridges at the top.

Triberg Waterfalls

Dropping over seven steps deep into the Black Forest, one of Germany's best-known falls. The trip that works even in the rain.

Feldberg

The highest peak in the Black Forest, skiing in winter, hiking over the bare summit in summer. The view stretches far.
