Welcome to the Lusatian Lakeland

A plot of land at the forest edge in Elsterheide, Klein Seidewinkel district, right in the heart of Lausitzer Seenland. You'll find peace and quiet here, with trees closer than neighbors. For swimming and cycling, it's just a short drive: Scheibe-See, Senftenberger See, and Geierswalder See are all within a few minutes by car. Well-developed paths allow you to plan a round trip around the flooded open-cast mining lakes, and the observation tower at Senftenberger See offers a bird's-eye view of the Seenland. In the evening: the sound of the forest.1

Sights in the area1

Senftenberger See

One of the flooded former open-pit lakes in the Lausitz Lake District, with beaches and a cycling loop along the shore; a lookout tower shows the chain of lakes from above. A few minutes by car.

Geierswalder See

A neighbouring lake with a boat jetty and a climbable lighthouse on the shore; connecting canals let you explore the lake district by boat too. A quiet swimming day without a long drive.

Dresden

The Saxon capital, about 55 km away: the Fürstenzug mural of Meissen porcelain tiles and the Blaue Wunder bridge over the Elbe make a good rainy-day trip.
