Waldstellplatz Kammweg "Von-Langen-Platz"
A gravel parking area north of Grünenplan, right in the middle of the forest managed by Niedersächsische Landesforsten. A hiking map hangs at the starting point, and from here the Hilskammweg trail winds over the ridge. You need to be self-sufficient: bring your own water and supplies. In the morning the forest is quiet, until a forestry vehicle takes one of the paths somewhere — these are actively managed, and occasionally another forest visitor parks nearby for a short time. You're allowed to stay for two nights.1
