AlpacaCamping 2024
A quiet spot for passing through, just under nine kilometers from Erfurt. The host doesn't say much, yet the welcome is warm nonetheless — that's really all there is to it. If you arrive in the evening, you'll hear little but your own camp stove. There's space for tents, motorhomes, and caravans. The surroundings do the rest: Erfurt's old town is a short drive away, and the castles all around are worth a detour. Move on in the morning, or simply stay.1

Sights in the area1
Erfurt Old Town
Nine kilometres on lies medieval Erfurt with the Krämerbrücke, still lived on today. An afternoon among timber houses and the branches of the Gera.
Severikirche
The Gothic Severikirche stands beside the cathedral on Erfurt's Domplatz. Climb the wide stone steps and you see both churches at once.
Drachenschlucht
A narrow gorge in the Thuringian Forest near Eisenach, at times just shoulder-wide over wooden walkways. Worth the drive, and the go-to for hot summer days.
