Griesstätt

Square at the pumpkin yard 🎃

A pitch of your own at Kürbishof near Griesstätt, in the heart of Chiemgau. The ground is solid, so nobody ends up in mud even after rain; firewood and electricity are available for an additional fee. From the farm, a roughly hour-and-a-half walk leads through nature down to the Inn, with a break by the water. It's nine kilometers to Wasserburg am Inn and its old town, twenty-five to Chiemsee. Tents stay outside, vehicles up to ten meters fit. Evenings: silence.1

Sights in the area1

Wasserburg am Inn

The old town sits on a peninsula, almost entirely wrapped by the river Inn — narrow lanes, painted townhouses, a hint of the south. A stroll fills half an afternoon.

Chiemsee

Bavaria's largest lake, the so-called Bavarian Sea. Ludwig's unfinished Herrenchiemsee palace stands on the Herreninsel; the lake is an easy bike ride from the farm.

Seebruck

On the northern shore of the Chiemsee, where the Romans kept the station of Bedaium. From the promenade the view crosses the water to the Chiemgau Alps.
