Eppenschlag

Sleeping in the open air at the Fürst'n

A large forest meadow near Eppenschlag in the Bavarian Forest, surrounded by the quiet mountain forests of the 805-meter-high Daxberg. Around ten thousand square meters in one piece, in a remote location directly on the national park. Camping is free, shower and toilet facilities in the Vierseithof remain open day and night. The farm includes a pond for fishing, a petting zoo and a Kneipp facility with a barefoot path. The Geißkopf is part of the same corner of the forest. Evening campfires, sometimes a guided torch hike. In the morning it smells of wet grass and pony.1

The water drops through a narrow gorge over several steps, the upper walkway shows most of it. Best after rain, when it really roars.
