Pitches at the Sternrodt ski resort and adventure mountain

Just over three kilometers outside Bruchhausen near Olsberg, up at the mountain station. The parking site sits on the north slope of Langenberg, at 843 meters the highest point in North Rhine-Westphalia. The ski area and adventure park are located above. The Langenberg circular trail begins here, with views of the four ice age rock formations of Bruchhauser Steine along the way. During the day, the Sternrodler toboggan run rattles the sleds three hundred meters up the mountain, with seven curves leading back down to the valley. In the evening, it becomes quiet. Meals are eaten down in town.1

Sights in the area1

Bruchhauser Steine

Four porphyry rocks above the valley, protected as a national natural monument; the short climb pays off even on grey days, when fog hangs between the crags.

Kahler Asten

At 841 metres just two metres lower than the Langenberg; from the Astenturm tower the view reaches across half of the Sauerland on clear days.

Möhnesee

Reservoir on the northern edge of the Sauerland with a circular path and sailing boats; the place for hot days when the uplands get too warm.
