Pitch at Horse, Donkey and Woolly Pig
A smallholding of 2.4 hectares in a secluded location between moorland and heathland, four kilometres from Uchte. Three pitches with electricity, plus a tent site on the fruit meadow without hookups. In the mornings, horses doze on the paddock, during the day runner ducks waddle across the farm, in the evening bats hunt over the meadow. In spring and autumn, cranes fly overhead. The farm café opens from midday Friday to Sunday, with eggs from our own coop. Grill and fire pit are ready to use. One of the barn cats might stop by.1

Sights in the area1
Steinhuder Meer
Lower Saxony's largest lake, about 30 kilometres away: shallow water, fishing boats, a cycle path around the shore. The day trip for when the farm gets too quiet.
Uchte moor and moor railway
The narrow-gauge railway runs through the moor, and the exhibition holds Mora, the bog body found here. An afternoon is enough, and rain barely matters.
Münchehagen Dinosaur Park
Real dinosaur trackways in the open-air grounds, plus life-size reconstructions, around 20 kilometres away. Reliably fills a whole day with children.
Weser Cycle Route
The long-distance route follows the Weser northwards; around Nienburg a flat day stage is easy to cut out. No climbing involved at all.
