Peaceful van spot / roof tent with views of the Harz
A level van parking area at the beech forest near Landolfshausen, east of Göttingen. During the day, it's peaceful. In the evening, a fire crackles, with the starry sky above. In the morning, you have breakfast in the pavilion, from which the Harz mountains lie on the horizon. There's no electricity at the site itself, but it's available in the adjacent service building, along with hot water and sanitary facilities. It's about eleven kilometers to Göttingen and just a short drive to Kiessee lake.1

Sights in the area1
Göttingen Kiessee
A dammed lake on the edge of Göttingen, a good eleven kilometres away. The shore path is the town's after-work loop; rowers and walkers share the bank.
Scharfenstein Castle
A medieval hilltop castle in the Eichsfeld with a wide view over the wooded hills. The go-to outing once the day at the pitch runs quiet.
The Harz
The low mountain range that sits on the horizon from the pavilion. Brocken, forest and hiking trails fill a full day when the weather holds.
