Overnight at the alpaca farm Lungwitztal
A four-sided courtyard farm in Sankt Egidien where you park close to the alpacas. The animals are used to visitors and come to the fence, morning and evening. Right next to it runs the Plauen-Dresden railway line. The trains are quiet. Children and dogs are welcome, the playground is 400 metres further on, beyond the railway tunnel dogs have free roaming space. It's five kilometres to Sachsenring, 18 to Chemnitz. In the farm shop you'll find alpaca wool, and every visitor can snap off a small wooden alpaca from the turned wheel.1

A reservoir with a summer toboggan run on the slope and a trail to the Karl May Cave. The kind of afternoon after which children fall asleep on their own.

A model park where well-known buildings from around the world stand side by side. Works in mixed weather too, since everything sits outdoors in miniature.
Chemnitz
The nearest larger city, about 18 kilometres away. Rabenstein Castle and the Chemnitz valley cycle path through the old railway tunnel are among the known destinations there.
