Flögeln

On the lake with its own jetty in Geestland

A natural property on the Flögeler See, in the heart of the Geest. At Silke's, your camper stands on mown meadow, right on the shore, with your own jetty and a boat for paddling. The lake is a moorland lake, 155 hectares in size, not crystal clear, but knee-deep at the edges. In the morning, waterfowl glide across the water, in winter whooper swans from Russia rest here. Across the way, a moorland path leads through the landscape, and with the Moorbahn of the MoorIZ you can venture deeper into nature. Large motorhomes don't fit here. The best thing to do here: nothing.1

What Hinterland writes

„This pitch is not suitable for the Grand California or self-built conversions on a VW Crafter base (max. unladen weight of 2.6 t). They are too heavy.
Caravans only small models (up to 4m), motorhomes also only small models.“

Sights in the area1

MoorIZ

The moor railway runs from the old peat works out into the bog; inside an interactive exhibition, plus a café and a themed playground — the rainy-day classic of the area.

Bad Bederkesa

In the Five Lakes district a medieval castle stands by the water, with a lakeside restaurant and a modern playground. Cycle paths lead from lake to lake across the Geest.

Beach near Otterndorf

At the Elbe estuary near Otterndorf lies a sandy beach with a view of the passing ships; the change of scene when the moor lake gets too quiet.

Bremen

Around 62 kilometres away lies Bremen with St Peter's Cathedral and the old town on the Weser; the city day for when country life is enough.
