On the edge of the forest in the Black Forest with a view
A paved plateau at the forest edge above Furtwangen-Linach, just large enough for one camper van. Forest behind the pitch, the Linachtal valley in front. In the morning, birdsong wakes you, during the day it smells of pine needles. In the evening, the valley sinks into twilight, then the stars appear. The facilities include water, electricity, a terrace and a composting toilet at the garden house. At Christine's, you're alone. Day trips to Feldberg or the Triberg Waterfalls are possible, Freiburg is about 32 km away.1

Sights in the area1
Feldberg
At 1,493 metres the highest peak in the Black Forest; on clear days the view reaches the Alps, and in winter it becomes the region's main ski area.
Triberg Waterfalls
The Gutach drops through seven cascades here, one of Germany's tallest waterfalls; a reliable outing for a grey day.
Schauinsland
Freiburg's local mountain, reached by one of Germany's longest cable cars; up top there are trails and views across the southern Black Forest to the Vosges.
Freiburg im Breisgau
The university city at the edge of the Black Forest, about 32 km away; the minster, the Bächle water channels and an old-town stroll for a rainy day.
