Marvin and Laura's Pitch

A pitch on 5000 square metres of meadow near Wipperfürth, the hosts' house is the last one on the road, with only a farm track and fields beyond. Close to the path it's level, further back the meadow slopes away. You choose your own spot with views out over the green. During the day, the occasional hiker passes by, and when the weather turns, the farm machinery comes through. In the evening: peace and quiet. If you look up, you'll see a starry sky with no light pollution. The hosts will lay on electricity as needed. It's around 15 kilometres to Remscheid and the Eschbachtalsperre reservoir.1

Sights in the area1

Eschbachtalsperre

One of Germany's oldest drinking-water reservoirs, a good 15 kilometres towards Remscheid. The loop trail along the shore is the classic pick for a quiet afternoon.

Müngsten Bridge Park

Beneath Germany's highest railway bridge in the Bergisches Land, the park sits by the Wupper; a hand-operated ferry takes walkers to the far bank.

Eifgenbach

A near-natural stream valley in the Bergisches Land, popular for walks along the water; shaded enough even for hot summer days.
