Münsterland · Heiden

Little time out in the green (single place)

A large meadow near Heiden in the Münsterland, where you have the place all to yourself — no neighbours, just grass and sky. The site lies in the sun all day long, and in the evening it burns red over the fields. The host doesn't reveal much more: a pitch in the middle of nature, surrounded by hiking and cycling trails through the flat countryside. If you want to venture further, you can cycle towards Bottrop, where the Tetraeder stands on the slag heap, a good thirty kilometres away. Otherwise: wide open spaces and wind.1

What Hinterland writes

„We offer a pitch in the middle of nature.
You stand completely alone, on a large meadow. You have sun all day and in the evening there is a beautiful sunset. In the surrounding area there are many beautiful hiking and biking routes.“

Sights in the area1

Tetraeder Bottrop

A walkable steel pyramid on an old mining spoil heap in Bottrop, under thirty kilometres away. From up among the struts you look out over half the Ruhr area; in wind the structure sways a little.

Halde Haniel

One of the highest spoil heaps in the Ruhr region near Bottrop, topped by an amphitheatre and a Way of the Cross with totem poles. Worth the detour for the wide view at sunset.

Werseradweg

A flat, signposted cycle route through the Münsterland along the river Werse. The classic for a whole day in the saddle, without a single climb.
