Lovely spot in the heart of the vineyards at Binger Rochusberg
A parking spot in the middle of the vineyards at the foot of Bingen's Rochusberg, next to the equipment hall of the Weingut Dreikönigshof above Bingen am Rhein. The view sweeps across the vines into the Rhine valley. There are no supply or disposal facilities — you bring your own water and toilet — but in exchange you get free choice of spot and a small campfire. Vine prunings available on request. It's a quarter-hour walk to the Rochuskapelle and equally far to the Rhine riverbank. Across the way, the Mittelrheintal passes by. In the evening, you fetch wine from the vending machine down at the winery and drink it right where it grows.1

The imposing monument above Rüdesheim, reached from the riverbank by ferry and cable car; from the Germania statue the Middle Rhine Valley spreads out. The trip for a clear day.
