Ideal transit place on the A3 in the middle of the forest

A garage forecourt on the edge of Hennef, perched at the top of a wooded hill. Designed as a stopover for passing through on the A3, at the level of Bonn. Electricity and water are available – that's all you need for one night. Forest all around. From the hill, the motorway sounds like distant traffic noise, closer still is the wind in the trees. Anyone who hits the road again in the morning is quickly back on the asphalt; Bonn is about 13 kilometres away, with the Sieg wetlands and the Rhine riverside within reach.1

Sights in the area1

Bonn

The former West German capital on the Rhine, a good 13 kilometres away. Its museum mile and old town fill a rainy day without a long drive.

Sieg Water Meadows

The floodplain along the river Sieg before it joins the Rhine. Flat paths for cycling or walking by the water, good for a quiet afternoon between two legs.

Siebengebirge

The wooded volcanic hills above the Rhine near Königswinter, crowned by the Drachenfels. A day of hiking if you end up staying longer.
