Hill view at the hut
A farm in a secluded location overlooking the small village of Marmecke, some distance outside of Kirchhundem in the Sauerland. The parking spot is situated above the pasture, next to a small hut at the forest's edge. One should be self-sufficient. However, there is electricity and water available at the farm, plus fresh eggs in the morning. From the camper van, the sun rises over the pasture, and in the evening a campfire burns in the shelter of the hut. Hiking trails and bike routes run in all directions, one of them leading to the Rhein-Weser-Turm.1

Lookout tower on the watershed between Rhine and Weser; reachable on foot or by bike from the tracks by the farm, a clear goal for a first outing.

At 841 metres one of the highest peaks in the Sauerland; from the Astenturm the view stretches far across the hills when the weather holds.
