Ober-Ramstadt

Pleasure garden

A farmstead on the edge of Ober-Ramstadt, where the fields climb into the first heights of the Odenwald. The farm reveals little about itself, and there's not much more to say about it either. One thing is certain: space for motorhome, caravan and tent, away from the village. In the mornings, farm tracks lie in the sun, larks sing over the meadows. It's nine kilometers to Darmstadt, and Burg Frankenstein stands on the forest edge above. Anyone who comes should be prepared for a low-key experience.1

Sights in the area1

Frankenstein Castle

Castle ruin on the northern edge of the Odenwald above Darmstadt, with views over the Rhine plain. Famous for its Halloween event each autumn.

Darmstadt

The nearest town, nine kilometres away. The Mathildenhöhe with its Art Nouveau buildings is a World Heritage Site; the classic for a grey afternoon.

Odenwald

Wooded ridges and orchard meadows right at the door. Marked trails climb up from the farms, good for a half-day walk without the car.
