Farm campsite with playground

Three pitches at the forest edge near Walsrode, right next to the playground. The farm itself is located some two hundred meters further on at the edge of the village, surrounded by forest and meadows. Electric hookups are available at each pitch, and grilling takes place at the fire bowl provided. Cycling and hiking trails pass by the farm, leading directly into the Lüneburger Heide. In the afternoons, children's voices carry over from the climbing frame. In the evening, there's the forest. Pietzmoor is a day trip away, and Hannover is about fifty kilometers distant.1

Sights in the area1

Pietzmoor

The largest raised bog on the Lüneburg Heath near Schneverdingen, with a boardwalk looping around the dark water; the classic spot for a long afternoon on foot.

Totengrund

A hollow in the heath near Wilsede; when the heather blooms in August the whole basin turns purple. Reached on foot or by carriage, no cars allowed in.

Hannover

About fifty kilometres away: the New Town Hall by the Maschpark, plus the Anna Tower in the Deister hills for the view. The city day when the weather turns.
