A granite hill above Kirchenlamitz with the remains of a castle on top and old quarries on its flanks. The climb is short enough for one afternoon.
Luisenburg Rock Labyrinth
Near Wunsiedel, granite blocks pile up into a walkable maze of gaps and stairways. Between the boulders you stay fairly dry even in drizzle.
Ochsenkopf
One of the local summits of the Fichtelgebirge, with a wide view across the forests. In winter the cross-country tracks up here hold snow longest.
