Camping holiday in the Black Forest

A holiday farm above Oberharmersbach, beneath the Brandenkopf. Horses and goats graze on the paddocks; in the morning the chickens crow before the farm is fully awake. Hiking trails lead from the door to viewpoints and charming country inns. For excursions, the Allerheiligen waterfalls are within reach, the Europa-Park in Rust for long family days. Freiburg is a good fifty kilometers away. In the evenings it becomes quiet. Plus the view toward the Brandenkopf.1

What roadsurfer spots writes

Sights in the area1

Allerheiligen Waterfalls

Near Oppenau the water drops through a narrow gorge over several steps. A short path runs alongside the cascades, fine even in light rain.

Triberg Waterfalls

In Triberg the Gutach falls almost 160 metres over seven steps. The paved path makes them the classic when your legs don't want far.

Feldberg

The highest peak in the Black Forest, just under 1500 metres. On clear days the view reaches the Alps; in winter a magnet for skiers.

Europa-Park Rust

Germany's largest theme park, out towards the Rhine plain. The full-day family trip that leaves the kids worn out by evening.
