Camping by the forest in East Frisia
A secluded location in the immediate vicinity of a forest conservation area near Uplengen, in the heart of East Frisia. Parking is available on a large meadow; adjoining it are a vegetable garden and a swimming pond, plus a barrel sauna. In the mornings you mainly hear the wind in the trees. Otherwise, very little. Those who wish can cycle along forest paths and stroll through the woods. Shopping is available five kilometers away, with two organic shops closer by. The North Sea coast is around sixty kilometers away, while Aurich and Leer are each just under half an hour away.1

Sights in the area1
Pilsum Lighthouse
The little yellow-and-red tower behind the dyke, known from the Otto films. A short dyke walk leads there — the photo classic of the East Frisian coast in any weather.
Greetsiel
A fishing village with twin windmills and shrimp cutters in the harbour. The cycle path to Pilsum Lighthouse runs flat along the dyke, a calm day trip.
Lütetsburg Castle
A baroque castle with a sprawling landscape garden. The park with ponds and old trees is the fallback when the wind gets too sharp on the coast.
Oldenburg
The nearest larger town, about 40 km away. Old town, palace and museums make a rainy-day programme away from the coast.
