Fronhausen/Bellnhausen

Camping at the idyllic Lahn in Fronhausen

A pitch in Fronhausen/Bellnhausen, right by the Lahn and on the cycling path that runs alongside the river. The water is just a short walk away, ideal for anyone who wants to canoe or swim. The farm is home to sheep, goats, chickens and cows — and indeed camels, which you're welcome to see; next door, camel and llama tours are available. You can get fresh rolls from the baker, plus there's a farm shop and vending machines along the way. The motorway gets you quickly to Marburg and Gießen. In the morning: livestock and river air.1

What Hinterland writes

„Our campsite is located in the beautiful Fronhausen/Bellnhausen.

It is in immediate proximity to the Lahn river and therefore also close to the main cycle path that runs along the Lahn. With good access to the Lahn, water activities are no problem.“

Sights in the area1

Marburg

University town on the Lahn with a steep upper town and the landgraves' castle above the roofs. St. Elizabeth's Church is one of Germany's earliest purely Gothic churches; an afternoon for wandering.

Gießen

Student town on the Lahn, quick to reach via the motorway. The hands-on Mathematikum is the rainy-day classic for families.

Lahntalradweg

The cycle path along the Lahn starts right at the door and runs flat beside the water. A day trip without any real climb, fine with children too.
