AlpacaCamping 5527

A well-equipped, comfortable site in Ilchlow, right in the heart of East Frisia. The hosts are known to be exceptionally friendly and have compiled all kinds of tips for the region; fresh eggs are also available. Many only stop here on their way to the North Sea or the islands, while others stay and take excursions from here to Pilsum Lighthouse or to Lütetsburg Castle. Flat countryside all around, wide open skies. Oldenburg is about 63 kilometers away.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

Sights in the area1

Pilsum Lighthouse

The yellow-and-red lighthouse behind the dike, famous from the Otto films. The short walk across the dike is worth it in any weather, even when the North Sea wind pushes.

Lütetsburg Castle

A manor house with a sprawling landscape garden, old trees and ponds. A quiet afternoon among the paths, at its best during the rhododendron bloom in early summer.

Greetsiel–Pilsum cycle path

A flat route along the dike, from the fishing village of Greetsiel to the lighthouse. The right plan for a windy day when a long ride would be too much.
