AlpacaCamping 531

A pitch in Schwarzenberg/Erzgebirge, rather basic — but the host welcomes you warmly and tells you everything you need to know. It's a short walk to the Waldbühne, a concert evening without your car. In the morning, views across the Erzgebirge, clear all the way to the ridges. There's space for both tents and motorhomes. It's not far up to Auersberg, and the Röhrgrabenweg trail winds through the surrounding forests. In the evening, it becomes peaceful.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„We had only booked for one night (concert visit to the Waldbühne). The site seemed a bit basic to us, but we were received very warmly by the host and provided with all the information we needed.“

Sights in the area1

Auersberg

One of the highest peaks in the western Ore Mountains, topped by a stone lookout tower. On clear days the view stretches into the Bohemian borderland, the reward for the climb.

Fichtelberghaus

The mountain lodge sits on Saxony's highest summit, the Fichtelberg. A ski slope and toboggan run in winter, a starting point for ridge hikes in summer.

Röhrgrabenweg

An old mining water channel, now a level path following the water. The easy afternoon stroll with no incline.

Chemnitztalradweg

From Chemnitz, about 32 km away, the trail follows a former rail line with a long railway tunnel — a shady ride for hot days.
