AlpacaCamping 463

A campsite in Vierkirchen in the Oberlausitz, open for tents, motorhomes and caravans. The entrance is not signposted and easy to miss; if you arrive late, the hosts will direct you, even as late as eleven o'clock if necessary. There is no hot water for showers, which is an honest drawback for the price. Otherwise, the site is simple. It's about 66 kilometres to Dresden with the Fürstenzug, while the Oberlausitz around it with its mountains and ponds is much closer.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Very nice hosts - arrival even at 11 pm still possible with personal "directions help". Now the (unfortunately) negative: Hidden - unmarked entrance - No hot water for showers and thus overpriced - in working life you would say "always trying"...“

Sights in the area1

Fürstenzug (Procession of Princes)

In Dresden the Fürstenzug runs for a good 100 metres, a mounted procession in Meissen tiles. A fine start for wandering the old town, about 66 kilometres away.

Hochwald in the Zittau Mountains

The distinctive cone crowned by the Hochwald mountain hut; on clear days the view reaches deep into Bohemia. A day's hike in the southern Upper Lusatia.

Blaues Wunder (Blue Wonder)

The steel-blue Elbe bridge links Loschwitz and Blasewitz in Dresden. Take the funicular next to it and the city opens up from above.
