AlpacaCamping 360

A place for natural camping near Ilberstedt in the Salzland — and the host isn't saying more, so there's nothing more to tell here. Tents, motorhomes and caravans find space, the surroundings are flat and expansive. Those who wake early will hear mainly the wind over the fields of the Börde. Magdeburg with its bascule bridge is about 36 kilometres to the north. Halle with Giebichenstein Castle lies at a similar distance to the south. In between: fields, beets, horizon.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

Sights in the area1

Magdeburg

The state capital on the Elbe, about 36 kilometres to the north. The cathedral and Hundertwasser's colourful Green Citadel easily fill a rainy day.

Giebichenstein Castle

The old hill fortress above the Saale in Halle, split into an upper and lower castle. From the keep the view opens over the river — a short stop with a wide outlook.

Peissnitz Island

The green river island in the middle of Halle, encircled by the Saale. Lawns, a small park railway and rowing boats make it a spot for warm days.
