AlpacaCamping 2332

A meadow in Lennestadt in the Sauerland, where a gravel lot used to be; today the area is overgrown and freshly mowed. There are no fixed plots or rows, more of a feeling of wild camping right in the middle of the green. In the morning you can ask the host for rolls. Otherwise little programme. All around the Sauerland: the Biggesee for swimming, the Kahle Asten high up in the Rothaargebirge. It's around 31 kilometres to Siegen.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„"The photos still show a gravel pitch. It has since become overgrown with grass. Due to the weather, we didn't have a match and the grass was mowed. Personally, I felt like I was wild camping 😊. Those who wish can ask the host for rolls in the morning."“

Sights in the area1

Biggesee

One of the larger reservoirs in the Sauerland, with lakeside paths and excursion boats. The region's go-to for a swim when the meadow gets too quiet.

Kahler Asten

At 841 metres one of the highest peaks in North Rhine-Westphalia; from the Astenturm the view stretches far across the Rothaar mountains. A trip for a clear day.

Siegen

About 31 kilometres away, the main town of the Siegerland. Nearby lie remnants of the Westwall such as the dragon's teeth line, a stop for history buffs.
