AlpacaCamping 1543
A pitch in the green near Holtgast in East Frisia. During the day, chickens wander across the grass, sometimes with a dog trailing behind. From here you can cycle to the sluices on the North Sea, flat and wide through the countryside to the mudflats. The host reveals little more than meadow and peace. At night it gets dark. Then the starry sky stands above the meadows, clear to the horizon, the way you rarely see it in the city anymore.1
What AlpacaCamping writes
„Very nice pitch in the countryside. Chickens and a dog occasionally visit. From here you can start beautiful bike rides to the sluices on the North Sea. At night you can see a magnificent starry sky.“

Sights in the area1
Wadden Sea National Park
This UNESCO World Heritage coast off East Frisia falls dry at low tide. Guided mudflat walks head out barefoot, past tidal channels, mussel beds and lugworms.
East Frisian Islands
From the coastal harbours, ferries cross to Langeoog and Spiekeroog, both car-free. A day trip is enough for beach and dunes, and the bike comes along.
Bensersiel and Neuharlingersiel harbours
The small tidal harbours nearby are where the bike routes lead: cutters at the quay, a view over the dyke and a fish roll before heading back to the green.
