Stemwede

AlpacaCamping 1437

A meadow at Dennis and his family's place in Stemwede, with an old tree population that casts shade over the pitches in the afternoon. You'll be warmly welcomed, then there's little time for anything else. Washing facilities are in the main house: campers share one bathroom with shower and toilet. Not much more is needed. In the mornings you mainly hear birds in the branches, otherwise it stays quiet. It's around 35 kilometers to Osnabrück, the Dümmer lake lies to the north.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„We had a wonderful extended weekend with Dennis and his family. We were welcomed very warmly and parked on a meadow with beautiful trees. The main house has a bathroom with shower and toilet for campers.“

Sights in the area1

Osnabrück

The 'city of peace' where the Peace of Westphalia was negotiated in 1648. An old town with town hall and cathedral, about 35 kilometres away, the trip for a rainy day.

Dümmer

Lower Saxony's second-largest lake, shallow and wind-swept, a haunt for sailors and birdwatchers. A cycle path rings it through the moor, enough for a full day.

Steinhuder Meer

The largest lake in north-west Germany, further east towards Hanover. A sandy beach at the Steinhude shore plus the island fortress of Wilhelmstein for a boat trip — a full day out.
