AlpacaCamping 1141
An alpaca meadow in Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde in the Sauerland region near Hagen, around ten kilometers away. The motorhome doesn't stand at the fence, but right in the middle of the herd: currently sixteen stallions. The spot under the tree remains free, the animals keep the shade. If you stay calm, they'll eventually be standing under your awning, noses right at the door. Only self-sufficient vehicles without dogs are permitted, because alpacas perceive dogs as predators. They don't like being touched on the head. Yet they are curious.1
What AlpacaCamping writes
„Right in the thick of it, not just watching from the sidelines!
That was our host's comment when we drove onto the farm and asked where we could park our motorhome.“

Sights in the area1
Möhnesee
A large reservoir in the northern Sauerland, known far beyond the region since the 1943 raid on its dam. A trail runs along the shore, and there are several swimming spots.
Kahler Asten
At 841 metres one of the highest mountains in North Rhine-Westphalia, above Winterberg. From the Astenturm the view runs far across the Rothaargebirge; snow arrives here first.
Biggesee
A reservoir in the southern Sauerland with excursion boats. Hiking trails follow the water, the standard choice for a long Sunday without a fixed plan.
