Absolute tranquility in the Volcanic Eifel

A farm in Weidenbach, right in the heart of the Eifel, with far-reaching views over meadows and pastures. All around, cows graze, chickens cluck, and miniature cow Muck comes to the fence to be petted. In the mornings you mainly hear birds and the sound of the small streams. The farm shop sells eggs, pasta and honey from the farm. It's around 40 kilometers to Trier. In the surrounding area you'll find the Eifel maars and the Dreimühlen waterfall. Arrival until half past seven in the evening.1

Sights in the area1

Eifel maars

Water-filled volcanic craters, deep blue and almost perfectly round; some for swimming, others just to look at. The classic loop for a bike ride through the Volcanic Eifel.

Dreimühlen Waterfall

A limestone-tufa waterfall that slowly keeps growing as lime settles on the moss. A short walk gets you there, worth it even in the rain.

Trier

Germany's oldest city, about 40 kilometres away; the Porta Nigra and the Roman trail show antiquity in one go. A day trip for grey weather.
