Campsite Farbenkinderhof

High above the Saale Valley, in the Thuringian Holzland, lies the Farbenkinderhof near Freienorla. Camping takes place between forest and paddocks, where around 40 horses graze; plus a donkey, a mule and a cow. In the morning, it smells of hay and damp forest floor, with the sound of neighing from the pasture. You can learn to ride here, and hiking trails lead directly into the forest. Jena is about 18 kilometers away. If you wish, you can visit the Jenzig peak beforehand.1
