A large orchard meadow near Rechlin, close to the Müritz. You pick your own pitch, and you take your time doing it because there's space under the fruit trees almost everywhere. Sun or shade, depending on the tree. The area is so expansive that other campers barely catch your attention when they arrive. In the morning, light filters through the apple trees, otherwise it stays peaceful. It's quite a distance to Neustrelitz with its harbour, and Berlin is around 100 kilometres away.1

Müritz National Park
Forest, bog and lakes east of Rechlin. In autumn thousands of cranes gather here, easy to watch from the viewpoint.
Neustrelitz Harbour
The town harbour on Lake Zierker, with moorings and a promenade. A good half day when the water calls instead of the meadow.
Berlin
The capital lies around 100 km away, with the Brandenburg Gate and the Wall cycle path along the Teltow Canal; the city day between two lake days.
