The city lake on the edge of Münster's old town, ringed by a wide shoreline path. Walking or cycling the loop is the calm afternoon for when the bustle of the city gets too much.
Rieselfelder Münster
Former sewage-irrigation fields north of Münster, now a bird sanctuary with observation towers. For early risers with binoculars, the best spot around to watch migrating birds.
Werse cycle path
The route follows the river Werse through the southern Münsterland, mostly off the roads and shaded by the water. A day trip for anyone who likes it flat and free of climbs.
