AlpacaCamping 954

A parking spot on the outskirts of Vogtsburg in the Kaiserstuhl, designed for self-sufficient campers. The view looks out over the vineyards, with morning mist hanging over the terraces. You're not entirely alone here: the spot is right in the middle of a residential area, with houses immediately next door. That said, it's peaceful. You can buy wine from the local vintners, and the prices are reasonable. Freiburg im Breisgau is about 18 kilometers away, with the Black Forest beginning beyond.1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„The parking spot is a great offer for self-sufficient campers. It's located very quietly at the edge of town with a view of the vineyards. We bought wine and are very happy with the price-performance ratio! And it hit our taste! Many thanks to the winemakers!“

Sights in the area1

Kaiserstuhl

A volcanic range in the Rhine plain, known for wine and warmth. Trails through the terraced vineyards start in nearly every village, good for half a day too.

Freiburg im Breisgau

Old university town at the edge of the Black Forest, about 18 km away. Minster, the Bächle in the lanes, market hall. The town day when the wind sweeps the fields.

Schauinsland

Freiburg's local mountain above the city, reached by one of Germany's longer gondola lifts. From the top the view runs across the Rhine plain to the Vosges.

Feldberg

At 1493 metres the highest peak of the Black Forest, well to the east. Ski slopes in winter, the view from the tower in summer.
