Vogelwiese

A meadow in the Elbmarsch, southeast of Hamburg, with wide views across the flat marshland. The pitch itself is part of it. Plenty of grass, little else around. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Dove Elbe and Gose Elbe, where traffic noise fades away in the evening. Regional cuisine and a cold beer are within walking distance. If you fancy it, hop on your bike and you'll reach the HafenCity in just over half an hour. In the evening, the fire bowl is lit and the swing grill is ready to go.1

What VanSite writes

„You'll enjoy a vast view of the Elbe marshes meadows. Your pitch itself is part of a generously spacious meadow.
The side arms Dove and Gose Elbe are just a short walk away. At Landhaus Voigt you can treat yourself to regional cuisine and a cold beer.“

Sights in the area1

Elbphilharmonie & HafenCity

The concert hall atop an old warehouse and the new harbour quarter around it; the plaza with its all-round view over the port is free to enter and worth it in any weather.

Landungsbrücken & Old Elbe Tunnel

The ferry piers at the harbour's edge, next to the century-old tunnel beneath the Elbe; walk through and look back at the cranes from the far side. The classic for grey days.

Außenalster

The large lake in the middle of the city, ringed by a path for runners and cyclists; in summer the sailing boats criss-cross it, an afternoon is enough for the loop.
