Vision

Read this while you look out over the horizon. I can only imagine what it was like to live as a pioneer hundreds of years ago, with no one but yourself and all that nature has to offer, as company! It's incredible how far we've come since then in terms of technology, comfort and entertainment options.... The lush green meadows stretched before my eyes as if an artist had painted them on canvas - though not quite as neatly. There was something about seeing such natural beauty without any signs or sounds of civilization; it felt peaceful and serene, even if there wasn't much happening around me except cows peacefully chewing their cud (sorry).1

What AlpacaCamping writes

„Completely alone in the middle of nature. On a family run dairy farm. View of the forest and beautiful meadows with animals.
Distance to the Baltic Sea about 25 min by car.“

Sights in the area1

Geltinger Birk

A nature reserve on a Baltic peninsula where semi-wild Konik horses graze. The flat path along the dyke works even on windy days.

Kappeln

A harbour town on the Schlei with a bascule bridge and an old herring weir. From the quay you can watch boat traffic for an hour.

Haithabu Viking Museum

A reconstructed trading settlement on the Haddeby Noor with walk-in Viking houses and a museum; the region's rainy-day standby.

Schleswig and St Peter's Cathedral

An old town at the end of the Schlei. The cathedral holds the carved Bordesholm Altar, and the Holm fishing quarter sits next to it.
