Vanlife on the Weser by KlemmVan

A parking space in the Weserbergland, fifty metres from the Weser. Space for a van on solid, level ground. Power supply available. Fresh water by arrangement only — there is no disposal facility for greywater or blackwater here. Right next door, the Gierseilfähre ferry crosses to Hemeln, powered by the river current for around 650 years without a motor. The Weserradweg cycle route passes by the space, and behind the village the Reinhardswald forest begins with the Sababurg. You'll be parked on the grounds of a camper manufactory.1

Sights in the area1

Sababurg in the Reinhardswald

The ruin in the Reinhardswald is said to be the Brothers Grimm's Sleeping Beauty castle; the wildlife park next door keeps bison and lynx, a rainy-day trip for families.

Old town of Hann. Münden

A half-timbered town where the Werra and Fulda meet, a good 10 km upriver; SUP and canoe tours set off here and finish back near the pitch.

Wilhelmshöhe Mountain Park

The UNESCO site above Kassel, some 23 km away; on summer days the water features tumble down the cascades below the Hercules statue, a long afternoon out.
