Under the walnut tree

A paved site in Wissen, shaded by a walnut tree that is more than seventy years old. On hot days, you'll sit beneath it in semi-darkness. The ground accommodates small and medium-sized motorhomes, but is too cramped for large ones. There is no fireplace. Instead, a fire bowl is ready in the evening. If you wish, you can book the sauna with a small garden as well. The outdoor shower runs only from April to October; in winter you use the stable shower. It is approximately 24 kilometers to Siegen.1

What VanSite writes

„Especially on hot days, the walnut tree, over 70 years old, offers its guests a shady spot. The paved area is particularly suitable for smaller and medium-sized campervans or motorhomes. The proximity to the Holschbar is also an advantage of this pitch.“

Sights in the area1

Siegen

The nearest larger town, about 24 kilometres away. Its Oberes Schloss houses the Siegerland Museum, with paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, who was born here — the rainy-day fallback.

Westerwald

The hilly low-mountain landscape around Wissen, with trails over forested ridges and through stream valleys. The go-to for a quiet day without a fixed destination.
