Sonnenhof llamas & alpacas
The vehicle is parked directly at the edge of the forest, about 500 meters outside of Freigericht, with llamas and alpacas grazing all around. You usually hear them before you see them, that dry grinding sound as they chew their cud. Hikes with the animals are possible by arrangement; otherwise you can watch them from behind the fence. It's just a few minutes' walk to town — 500 meters away. Offenbach am Main is 26 kilometers away. Out the back: the Spessart.1

Sights in the area1
Spessart
One of Germany's largest unbroken forests, beech and oak to the horizon. It starts right behind the farm, good for a walk without driving anywhere first.
Offenbach am Main
The nearest larger town, about 26 kilometres away. The German Leather Museum collects bags, trunks and shoes from three centuries and saves the odd rainy day.
Hanau
Birthplace of the Brothers Grimm, with their national monument on the market square and Philippsruhe Palace and park by the Main. An afternoon for when the forest is too wet.
