Two kilometres away, bison roam freely across a wide pasture, with calves in spring. A short outing that takes longer with children than planned.
Schandtauber path to the Wildbad
The creekside path from Rothenburg towards the Tauber runs in the shade and works for walkers and mountain bikers alike. The classic for hot days.
Würzburg
Baroque city on the Main, some 50 kilometres away, with its Residenz and the fortress above the vineyards. The day trip for when the area gets too quiet.
