Space at the Horse Paddock

You park your camper on a patch of the horse pasture in Wiesbaum, right where the horses usually have their run. That's all there is to it. In return, you get the animals as neighbours, their snorting in the morning and the smell of hay. It's five kilometres to Hillesheim, the crime fiction town. All around lies the juniper heath, and hiking trails lead through the Eifel down into the Lampertstal valley. Whoever comes shares the meadow with horses and takes the peace as it comes.1

What VanSite writes

„It's a piece on the horse meadow or in the horse pasture. Hillesheim, the crime city, is only 5 km away, Wacholderheide, hikes into the Lampertstal, beautiful area.“

Sights in the area1

Dreimühlen Waterfall

A small lime-tufa waterfall in the Eifel that tumbles over moss cushions and keeps slowly growing. The short walk pays off on hot days, when it stays cool down in the green.

Hindenburgtor

A rock gate of ancient reef limestone near Gerolstein, a remnant of a prehistoric sea. From the top you look out over the Kyll valley, a good half-day walk.

Lampertstal

A dry valley with juniper heath, crossed by narrow footpaths. In early summer it blooms between the dark bushes, the classic choice for a half-day tour in the Eifel.

Hillesheim

The Eifel's crime-fiction town, five kilometres away, with a crime museum and a trail full of invented crime scenes. The way out on a rainy day, when the heath is too wet.
