Pitch in the Greenery (Campspace 4707)
A self-sufficient pitch on an old horse pasture, secluded at the edge of a farm among fruit trees and forest. Three caravans can fit here, the pasture won't accommodate more. You'll need to bring your own supplies: there's no electricity or water available. In the morning it smells of wet grass, otherwise it stays quiet. It's about 62 kilometres to Hamburg for a day at the Außenalster. Evenings: just the forest.1

Sights in the area1
Pietzmoor
The largest raised bog in the Lüneburg Heath, near Schneverdingen. A boardwalk crosses the black peat pools; in late summer the heather blooms purple all around. The classic spot for a long walk.
Totengrund
A wide heath valley lined with juniper, one of the best known in the Lüneburg Heath. During the August bloom many hikers pass through; early in the morning the valley is almost your own.
Hamburg
The Hanseatic city lies about 62 kilometres away, good for a day in town. Sailing boats criss-cross the Außenalster; when it rains, the inner-city museums are the fallback.
