Nature camping in the apple orchard
An old apple orchard in Seehof, 185 trees, most of them long untended. They cast shade all day long, and you're spaced far enough apart between them that you won't hear a thing from your neighbors. It's 500 meters to Ruppiner See, and your own bathing platform with a bench comes with it. The lake stretches 22 kilometers through Ruppiner Land. The rest keeps it simple: drinking water, outdoor sink, solar shower, a composting toilet among the pines. Very rural here. Fruit picking happens together.1

Lakeside path along Lake Ruppin
The path along the water can be walked or cycled in stages; bathing meadows line the way, and on weekdays hardly anyone stops at them.
Seebad Altruppin
Bathing spot at the northern end of Lake Ruppin with a lawn and a shallow entry. The fallback when someone is already sitting on the private jetty.
Neuruppin
Fontane's home town at the southern shore, rebuilt on a drawing board after the town fire of 1787. An afternoon covers the old centre.
Potsdam
Prussian royal seat with palaces and parks, around 52 kilometres away. The day trip that still works when the weather turns grey.
