Nature Camping "Fuchseloch" near Forchtenberg
A camping meadow above Ernsbach, overlooking the industrial village in the Kochertal valley. Around 3,000 square meters of grass, flat at the front, steeper toward the back. Forchtenberg Castle Ruin
The ruin above the village, birthplace of Sophie Scholl. The climb pays off with a view over the Kocher valley, a short half day that works with kids too.
Schöntal Monastery
Baroque monastery in the Jagst valley, an old pilgrimage site and burial place of Götz von Berlichingen. The courtyard is open and a quiet stop in the rain.
Kocher River
The river in the valley has a sunbathing meadow by the sports field near Ernsbach. In hot weeks the nearest place to cool off, reachable on foot.
Heilbronn
The nearest larger town, about 29 km away. From the Heuchelberger Warte the view runs over the vineyards; the town day for bad weather.
