Neunburg vorm Wald

Meadow parking lot

A small fenced meadow in Neunburg vorm Wald, otherwise used as a parking spot for horse trailers. Ten meters further begins the paddock, fifty meters further lies the Fuchsenhof riding facility. In the mornings you can hear horses snorting. A tool shed stands next to it, the host reveals nothing more. Riding lessons usually take place outside Bavarian school holidays, during holidays only if capacity is available, and must be booked the day before. All around is the Oberpfälzer Wald, with Nuremberg 96 kilometers away.1

What roadsurfer spots writes

„Small enclosed meadow with tool shed. The pitch is actually used for horse trailers. It is 10m from the nearest horse paddock and 50m from our riding facility - Reitschule Fuchsenhof - away.
Outside Bavarian school holidays, riding lessons are gladly possible.“

Sights in the area1

Waldnaab Valley

Rocky valley of the Waldnaab river in the Upper Palatine Forest; the trail runs over boardwalks and boulder fields to the old log cabin. A full day's walk.

Höllbach stream

The Höllbach tumbles over granite blocks through the woods of the Upper Palatine Forest. After rain it carries the most water, which is when the short gorge walk pays off.

Nuremberg

The old town with its imperial castle and craftsmen's courtyard lies about 96 kilometres away; the classic rainy-day trip when the forest is dripping.
